Oshikakei - Oshikakei

Japanese: 小鹿渓 - おしかけい

A valley in the upper reaches of the Ojika River in central Tottori Prefecture. Stretching about 4km from Kannokura in Misasa Town to Nakatsu Reservoir, a V-shaped valley was formed by eroding the granite rocks, and it has been designated a Place of Scenic Beauty. The valley floor is filled with oddly shaped rocks and bizarre stones, including potholes, rapids, pools such as Obuchi and Mebuchi, and large boulders. The fresh greenery and autumn foliage on both banks is beautiful. To the north of the valley is Mt. Mitoku, where the national treasure Sanbutsu-ji Temple's Ippyagedo Hall is located. 鳥取県中部にある小鹿川上流部の渓谷。三朝（みささ）町神倉（かんのくら）から中津貯水池まで約4kmにわたり，花コウ岩を浸食してV字状の谷が形成され，名勝に指定されている。谷底には甌穴（おうけつ），瀬や雄淵･雌淵などの淵，大岩塊など奇岩怪石が多い。両岸は新緑，紅葉が美しい。渓谷北方には国宝の三仏寺投入堂のある三徳（みとく）山がある。【豊島吉則】
