Hot spring along Matsukawa River at the northern foot of Mt. Matsukura in Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture. Simple hydrogen sulfide spring. 86℃. Hachimantai, the base for climbing Mt. Iwate. There is a geothermal power plant (output 20,000 kW). The nearby Kage-numa and Ogo-numa are breeding grounds for the Japanese green tree frog (natural monument). Take a bus from Obuke Station on the Hanawa Line.
