Sohio process

...The synthesis of hydrogen cyanide (hydrogen prussic acid) by ammoxidation of methane is also known. This acrylonitrile synthesis reaction was first commercialized in 1960 by Standard Oil Co. of Ohio and was called the Sohio process. The catalyst used at that time was a composite oxide of molybdenum and bismuth and phosphorus as its main components and was called the Sohio catalyst. Since then, various methods have been developed using the same principle but with different catalyst systems and reactor types.
