The primary veins of the pinnae have simple or several branching lateral veins on both sides, and are conveniently distinguished from the genus Sphenopteris (form genus), in which the distinction between the primary and lateral veins is unclear. Those from the Triassic and Early Jurassic periods are relatively large, and probably belong to the Osmundae or Ostrichidae families. …
