Sphenopalatine neuralgia

Examples of this include sphenopalatine neuralgia, which is a unilateral, paroxysmal pain that is centered around the orbit or the base of the nose and extends to the back of the ear, and vidian neuralgia, which is a unilateral attack of pain in the face, nose, eyes, ears, etc.

It is a sharp, unilateral, electric shock-like or stabbing-like pain attack mainly in the greater occipital nerve area, which branches off from the second cervical spinal nerve and widely innervates the back of the head.
