Spittle insect

...The bubbles of the larvae are very conspicuous, so they are known locally as tsuba-kimushi (frog spit) or kaeru-notsuba (frog spit). They are also known in English as cuckoo spit, frog spit, froghopper, and spittle insect. In some areas, it is believed that fireflies are born from these bubbles.
