Okuri (send) - Send

Japanese:
Okuri (send) - Send
A term used in Japanese music. It has various meanings depending on the field. First, in Noh, it refers to the two beats of Kusari that are exceptionally inserted between the eight basic beats, or Honji, in the ji-byo of a rhythm-matched chant. However, in the Edo period, the 10 beats that are combined with the Honji that immediately precedes or follows it were considered to be one Kusari, and were called Okuri or Okuriji. Next, in Joruri, there are various melody forms called "Okuri" or "Something and Something Okuri." Among them, the Okuri of Gidayu-bushi is the most representative.
