After suppressing the rebellion of Henry the Great, Archduke of Bavaria, supported by Boleslav II of Bohemia, and defeating the French King Lothar who had invaded Lorraine, he invaded Italy and attempted to extend his dominion to southern Italy, but was defeated by the Arab and Islamic armies and fled to Rome by sea, where he died. …
