...Candomblé de Caboclo is a style with strong Indian cultural elements. It is strongly influenced by spiritualism in the style of Allan Kardec (1804-69), and is on the continuum from pure spiritualism to African influences. There are also large regional differences, with the style often called Macumba in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Candomblé in Bahia, and Shango in Recife, but the rapid population movements have led to even more complex developments.

From Mysticism

…On the other hand, the old mysticism, which was meditative and transcendental, aiming at the realization of love rather than knowledge, was inherited by J. Boehme and Swedenborg into modern times.
