Texensis

... There are more than 200 varieties of ornamental clematis, which are garden plants developed from several wild species and their hybrids. Based on the wild species that served as the hybrid parents, they are usually divided into the following five groups in horticulture: (1) the Lanuginosa group, (2) the Patens group, (3) the Florida group, (4) the Jackmani group, and (5) the Texensis group. The Lanuginosa group was developed based on the large-flowered C. lanuginosa native to central China, and has been crossed with the Tessen and the Patens to produce plants with large flowers up to 20 cm in diameter.
