...This hybrid flowered in 1856 and was named C. dominyi . Dominy also crossed Cattleya mossiae Hook. with Laelia crispa Reichb., which flowered in 1863 and was named Laeliocattleya Exoniensis . This breeding was initially only done in England, but later spread to other European countries.
