A city in western Turkey. It flourished as the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon from the 3rd to 2nd centuries BC, and remains include the Temple of Athena and the Temple of Trajan on the Acropolis, a theater, as well as the Asclepion and Kizilăgul ruins. The Bergama Museum exhibits Hellenistic artifacts excavated in the area, but important collections such as the "Great Altar of Zeus" are currently housed in the Pergamon Museum in Germany. トルコ西部の都市。紀元前3世紀から前2世紀にかけて、ペルガモン王国の首都として栄え、アクロポリスのアテナ神殿、トラヤヌス神殿、劇場のほか、アスクレピオン、クズルアウルなどの遺跡が残っている。同地で発掘されたヘレニズム期の出土品を展示するベルガマ博物館があるが、「ゼウスの大祭壇」などの重要なコレクションは、現在ドイツのペルガモン博物館が所蔵。
