Korsun' (English spelling)

…It was occupied by German troops in 1941 during World War II. The medieval city of Cherson or Korsun' was a completely different ancient city in the Crimea. It was called Chersonēsos Taurikē in Greek (the name originally referred to the Crimean peninsula and was also used for the city's name) and was a colony founded by Greeks from Megara.
