A phenomenon in which many meteorites fall at the same time. For example, about 100,000 small meteorites fell in Pultusk, Poland on January 30, 1868, and Mosch, Hungary in 1882, and 14,000 fell in Arizona, USA on July 19, 1912. It is believed that this does not occur in the case of a meteor shower, where there is a large amount of space dust from the beginning, but rather that one large meteorite breaks up as it enters the atmosphere and falls to the ground.
