Kāthmāndu Valley (English spelling)

…the basin in central Nepal that includes the capital city of Kathmandu. It is also called the Kathmandu Valley. It is a small basin about 20 km east to west and 35 km north to south, lying in the intermediate lowlands at an altitude of about 1,300 m between the Mahabharat Range in the south and the Great Himalayas in the north.
