This shrine is located on Omishima Island in the Seto Inland Sea, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. It is listed in the Engishiki. The deity enshrined is Oyamatsumi-no-Kami. It is the Ichinomiya of Iyo Province. It is the head shrine of all Oyamazumi Shrines and Mishima Shrines throughout Japan. It is also known for protecting the seas, having been revered by the Kono clan, who led the Mishima Navy, and is known as the general guardian of Japan. The main hall and other buildings are designated as important cultural properties, and the camphor trees surrounding the grounds are designated as a national natural monument.
