jumping

...Although tree-climbing and cliff-climbing behavior involves skillful movements of the claws and limbs to support the body weight, they can basically be thought of as an application of creeping or walking.
[Jumping]
In animals with many legs, such as crustaceans and chelipeds, one of the legs is always attached to the bottom, but in insects and vertebrates with fewer legs, particularly powerful legs can be rapidly bent and extended to lift all of the legs off the bottom and move the body in a jump. When fleas jump, they first crouch down and bend their strong hind legs.
