Abnormalities in gastric juice secretion are seen in various diseases. In duodenal ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, it increases, resulting in hyperacidity, while in atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer, it decreases, resulting in hypoacidity. Gastric juice secretion is measured by gastric juice tests.
