[Hot compress]
This is a treatment method that applies moist heat to a local area. In the method used at home, warm water is absorbed into a small absorbent material such as a towel or blanket and then applied to the affected area. The most common medical device is called a hot pack. A gel made of silicate, bentonite, peat, or other material with a high heat capacity is placed in a cotton bag, heated to 80°C in an electric thermostatic bath called a hydrocollator, and then applied to the local area after being covered with a towel or vinyl.
