Homo erectus (English spelling)

...In Europe, Pliopithecus , thought to be the ancestor of gibbons, has been found, and complete fossils of Oreopithecus have been found in Italy. Fossils of modern apes and humans, such as Proconsul , Dryopithecus , Ramapithecus , and Gigantopithecus , have been found throughout Afro-Eurasia. This leads to Australopithecus from the late Pliocene and Homo erectus , a primitive human from the Pleistocene. There are very few fossils that are related to modern prosimians, but fossils of the loris family Indraloris are known from Pliocene strata in India.
