This is the process of cutting the front edge, top and bottom margins of the contents with a paper cutter to the specified dimensions. When applying head gilt, do not cut all three sides at once; first cut only the top and apply the gilt, then cut the front edge and bottom of the ruled area. When applying edge gilt on three sides, trim all three sides before applying the gilt.
