...From the 11th century to the end of the 13th century, the Hmong state flourished in Lamphun, northwest Thailand. Haripunjaya is the Pali name, and in Thai it is called Haripunchai. According to the Pali history books such as Chamadevivansa and Jinakaramali, written in Chiang Mai in the 15th and 16th centuries, and the Lanna Thai history book Moonrasasana, Haripunchai was the capital city built by the sage Basudeva, and Chamadevi, the daughter of the King of Labapura (Lopburi), sailed up the Ping River with 500 retainers to reach there and establish the dynasty.
