This phenomenon was discovered by JB Gunn in 1963 and is called the Gunn effect. The physical mechanism of oscillation is that electrons in a low-energy energy band with a small effective mass transition to a high-energy energy band with a large effective mass, as predicted by BK Ridley, TB Watkins, and C.
