…The Pont Neuf (Pont Neuf) on the Seine River in Paris, completed in 1604, is a typical example. The truss, which is made up of rod-shaped members, was invented by the Italian A. Palladio around this time, but the first truss bridge was actually built in 1757 by the Swiss carpenters Hans Ulrick and Johannes Grubenmann, who went on to build a wooden truss bridge over the Rhine with a span of over 100 meters.
