GI Bill of Rights

...In Japan, GIs were popular in the streets from the occupation period after the war to the Korean War, and the song "GI Joe" and the hairstyle "GI Cut" became popular. The GI Bill of Rights is the common name for the special assistance legislation (1944) for soldiers who returned home from the fronts of Europe and the Asia-Pacific region after World War II. It was later extended and amended to apply to soldiers from the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The main assistance and benefits were education and training privileges, GI loans, and unemployment benefits, but the most well-known system was the priority admission and tuition exemption system for colleges, which led to a rapid increase in the number of students going on to college after the war, and is noteworthy for being the trigger for today's high enrollment rate.
