Red pine - Red festival

Japanese: アカマツリ - あかまつり
Red pine - Red festival

...The flowers grow in spikes, but the rachis is short, about 3-4 cm long, and slightly skewed to one side. Closely related species include the red-flowered P. indica L., native to India and Southeast Asia, and the white-flowered P. zeylanica L., both of which are cultivated for decorative purposes, just like the blue pine. The roots and bark of these species contain the orange-yellow plumbagin, which is used as a folk medicine in India and China.
