...Roman rule ended with the invasion of the Xiongnu in the 5th century. From the mid-10th century, Duke Géza (?-997) built a castle here, and the Hungarian kings also used it as a royal palace. In particular, the Golden Age came during the reign of Béla III in the late 12th century, when a Roman-style royal palace was completed.
