A former town in Okawa County, eastern Kagawa Prefecture. It occupies lowlands in the Tsuda River basin. It produces rice, tobacco, and vegetables, and also engages in dairy farming. It mainly produces buttons, but also engages in sewing and ironworking. 香川県東部，大川郡の旧町。津田川流域に低地を占める。米，タバコ，蔬菜を産し，酪農も行う。ボタン製造を中心として，縫製，鉄工業などの工業も行う。2002年４月，津田町，志度町，寒川町，長尾町と合併，さぬき市となる。34.54km2。6977人（2000）。
