Treaty of Passarowicz

A peace treaty between the Ottoman Empire and Austria and Venice during the Austro-Turkish War (1716-18). The treaty was concluded in Passarowitz (now Požarevac), Serbia, in 1718, with Britain and the Netherlands acting as arbitrators. After the capture of Belgrade, Austria and Venice gained control of Oltenia (western Wallachia), Banat, Timișoara, northern Bosnia, and parts of Serbia, while Venice gained control of the Morea Peninsula, the Aegean islands, and parts of the coastal areas of Albania and Dalmatia. Austria's expansion to the south was particularly notable (though it retained control of Serbia and Oltenia until 1739).

オーストリア･トルコ戦争(1716‐18)におけるオスマン帝国とオーストリアおよびベネチアの間の講和条約。イギリスとオランダが仲裁国となり，1718年にセルビアのパッサロビツPassarowitz(現，ポジャレバツPožarevac)で締結された。ベオグラード攻略に成功したオーストリア･ベネチア側はこの条約によって，オーストリアはオルテニア(ワラキア西部)，バナト，ティミショアラ地方，ボスニア北部とセルビアの一部を，ベネチアは占領地域のモレア半島とエーゲ海の島々，アルバニアとダルマツィアの沿岸地域の一部を領有したが，とりわけオーストリアの南方への領土拡大が目だった(ただしセルビア，オルテニア領有は1739年まで)。
