…Artifacts said to have been excavated in 1877 between Kobadiān and Khulm on the Oxus River (Amu Darya) in Central Asia. The British Museum acquired the entire collection in 1897 through a bequest from AW Franks, and later added new items, plus one at the Victoria and Albert Museum, totaling 216 gold, silver and bronze items and about 1,500 coins. The exact place of discovery is unknown.
