Smoke - smoke
It is generated by combustion, and generally refers to dust, soot, sulfurous acid gas, carbon monoxide, etc. Legally, it is defined as follows in Article 2 of the Air Pollution Control Law: (1) Sulfur oxides generated by the combustion of fuel and other substances, (2) Smoke and dust generated by the combustion of fuel and other substances or the use of electricity as a heat source, (3) Cadmium, chlorine, hydrogen fluoride, lead, and other substances that may cause damage to human health or the living environment and are specified by government ordinance among substances generated by the combustion, synthesis, decomposition, or other processing (excluding mechanical processing).

燃焼によって発生するもので,一般には粉塵,すす,亜硫酸ガス,一酸化炭素などをいう。法的には大気汚染防止法 2条によって次のとおり定義されている。 (1) 燃料その他の物の燃焼に伴い発生する硫黄酸化物,(2) 燃料その他の物の燃焼または熱源としての電気の使用に伴い発生する煤塵,(3) 物の燃焼,合成,分解その他の処理 (機械的処理を除く) に伴い発生する物質のうち,カドミウム,塩素,フッ化水素,鉛その他の人の健康または生活環境にかかわる被害を生じるおそれがある物質で政令で定めるもの。
