Sports is a general term for modern sports that focus on competition, new sports that focus on fun, ethnic sports that focus on ethnic identity and rituals, meditative body techniques that focus on healing and meditation, health-oriented gymnastics and dance, and outdoor sports that seek contact with nature. Modern sports include ball games such as soccer and baseball, track and field events of running, jumping, and throwing, combat sports such as kendo and judo, ice and snow sports such as skiing and skating, water sports such as swimming and diving, animal sports such as horse racing and dog racing, boat sports such as yachting and rowing, car sports such as bicycles and cars, and competitive dancing, mainly ballroom dancing.
