This coastline faces the Pacific Ocean and spreads out to the south of the mouth of the Naka River in Oarai Town, Higashiibaraki County, Ibaraki Prefecture. It has been known as a great place for swimming since the Meiji period. Behind the beach is a pine forest that stretches 2 km long and covers an area of 70 hectares, and the beach has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best White Sand and Green Pine Coasts.
