...Many species of the Porphyra genus, such as Asakusa-nori and Susabinori, are used as the raw material for the commercial product Asakusa-nori, and are actively cultivated in the inland bays of Japan and Korea. (2) Florideophycidae: Fertilized eggs produce branching cell filaments called sporogenes, which form carpospores. Several life cycles are known for the Porphyra subclass, and the following two are the main types:
