Ewerbeck, H.

Japanese: Ewerbeck,H.(英語表記)EwerbeckH
Ewerbeck, H.

The first turning point came in May 1939, when the League suffered a devastating blow after participating in the Blanquist uprising in Paris. From then on, the League split into three poles: the Paris section, which switched to a pacifist line under the leadership of H. Ewerbeck (later joined by K. Grün), the Swiss section, which strengthened its Blanquist tendencies under the leadership of Weidling, and the London section, which focused on the ideological and political education of workers and had ties to the left wing of the Chartists, centered around K. Schapper, H. Bauer, and J. Moll. There was a fierce debate especially between Weidling and the London section, but by the mid-1940s the London section had established its leadership. Furthermore, in 1846, Marx and Engels, who had formed the Communist Committee of Correspondence in Brussels and had been in contact with various communist tendencies throughout Europe, came into contact with the leaders of the London district of the League, and the two men joined the League of the Just (February 1847), which significantly changed the nature of the League.
