Aizen Ouhou - Aizen Ouhou
This is an esoteric Buddhist ritual performed with Aizen Myoo as the principal image. It is said to be effective mainly in respect (harmony and friendship, i.e. mutual love and devotion between people, harmony between husband and wife, and devotion to Buddhism) and surrender (stopping evil that harms people and Buddhism, and quelling the difficulties of war and unrest). This ritual consists of the Aizen-o Nenjuho and Gomaho, which are considered secret rituals, but there is also the extremely secret Nyoho Aizenho. It is said that in order to establish the Aizen-o Ho in Japan, Ningai, the founder of Ono Mandala Temple, compiled the Aizen-o Daishidai and Aizen-osho. His disciple Seison performed this ritual in 1065 (Jiriyaku 1) in prayer for the accession of Emperor Gosanjo, and Seison's disciple Hanjun also frequently performed the Aizen-o Ho.

愛染明王を本尊にして修する密教の修法。主として敬愛(和合親睦すなわち人の相愛・信服,夫婦の和合,仏法への帰依),降伏(ごうぶく)(人や仏法を害する悪を止め,兵乱の難をしずめること)などに功験があるとされる。この法は愛染王念誦法と護摩法とがあり,秘法とされるが,それとは別に最極秘法としての〈如法愛染法〉がある。日本における愛染王法の成立を求めると,小野曼荼羅寺開基の仁海(にんがい)が《愛染王大次第》《愛染王鈔》を編んだと伝えられており,その弟子の成尊(せいそん)は1065年(治暦1)ごろ後三条天皇の即位を祈ってこの法を修し,成尊の弟子範俊(はんじゆん)もしばしば愛染王法を修した。
