A folk performing art handed down on Awaji Island in Minami-Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. A three-person puppet theater based on Gidayu-bushi. During the Edo period, it flourished under the protection of the Hachisuka clan, and toured around Western Japan, popularizing Joruri culture.
