It is closely related to the Ericaceae family, but is widespread mainly in the southern part of the Southern Hemisphere where the latter does not grow, and in the Northern Hemisphere, only a few are known in Indochina and Hawaii. Its form is more adapted to drier areas than the Ericaceae family. …
