Rājaśekhara (English spelling)
An Indian poet from around 900. He was of Kshatriya descent and married a woman from the Chahamana royal family. He was welcomed as the teacher of King Mahendrapala of the Pratihara dynasty and served at the court of Mahodaya (present-day Kanauj) in northern India. He is famous for writing the aesthetic treatise Kāvyamīmāṃsā. Of the four plays he left behind, Karpūramañjari is a unique work written entirely in Prakrit.
