emotion

Japanese: emotion
emotion

...However, in contrast to the view that emotions are a reflection of physiological confusion in consciousness and are meaningless phenomena of consciousness, there is another view that even bouts of anger or hysteria are meaningful actions that attempt to avoid situations that cannot be dealt with through orderly actions (P. Janet), symbolic actions (S. Freud), or magical actions that attempt to fictionally transform the situation (JP Sartre), in other words, an overall attitude of consciousness. Generally speaking, the words passion, emotion, and Gefühl originally have the passive meaning of being "carried," "moved," or "touched," so it is certain that these are passive mental phenomena and that our healthy consciousness is always colored by some kind of emotion. Furthermore, there are cultures, such as ancient Japan, that recognize in "mono no aware" the power to reveal a deeper world than intellectual knowledge, and philosophers, such as Nietzsche, recognize in "ecstasy" the fundamental artistic impulse. Considering that emotions generally play a fundamental role in artistic creation, it is certain that emotions have a great capacity for disclosure.
