Mean ecliptic longitude (English spelling)

Japanese: 平均黄経 - へいきんこうけい（英語表記）mean longitude

One of the orbital elements of the moon or planet, it indicates the longitude of the celestial body. It is the ecliptic longitude of the ascending node, the intersection of the orbit and the ecliptic plane measured from the vernal equinox, plus the longitude measured from the ascending node along the celestial body's orbit. The actual ecliptic longitude is obtained by correcting for the central difference due to the elliptical orbit of the celestial body and the gravitational perturbation of other celestial bodies, and then redrawing the celestial body's orbital plane onto the ecliptic plane. The mean ecliptic longitude is expressed as a constant at a certain time, a linear term proportional to time, a quadratic term proportional to the square of time, and higher-order terms with respect to time if necessary. These coefficients include precession, but do not include nutation.

月や惑星の軌道要素の一つで，その天体の経度を示すもの。春分点からはかった軌道と黄道面との交点すなわち昇交点の黄経と，昇交点からはその天体の軌道に沿ってはかった経度を加えたもの。実際の黄経は，その天体が楕円軌道を描いているための中心差と，他の天体の引力による摂動を補正し，その天体の軌道面から黄道面への引直しを行って得られる。平均黄経はある時刻における定数と，時間に比例する一次項，時間の2乗に比例する二次項，さらに必要なら時間に対する高次の項を加えて表現され，これらの係数には歳差の分も含んでいるが，章動は含まれていない。
