Einfühlung (English spelling)

...When we come face to face with other people, artwork, or nature, we project our own emotions onto these objects, and experience these emotions as if they belong to the object. This is a translation of the German word Einfühlung, but in English-speaking countries this psychological term has been translated as empathy and has taken on a unique form. How does the experience of touching someone's heart through what we see come about?
