Dodge, MM (English spelling) DodgeMM

[America]
In the same era as Andersen, W. Irving wrote Rip Van Winkle (1802), JF Cooper published a series of Indian stories from 1823 to 1841, and N. Hawthorne rewrote old history and mythology clearly aimed at children. Mrs. Storr's Uncle Tom's Cabin in 1852 was a social event, but Mrs. M. Dodge's Hans Brinker (Silver Skates) in 1865 was a children's literary event. Her realistic tendency finally led to the development of wholesome domestic novels such as Little Women (1868) and Little Men (1871) by LM Alcott and Katie's Katie Stories by S. Coolidge, and finally to the American-style Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884).
