Dial-a-Joke (English)

...A Japanese-English term referring to a type of simple information service that uses the telephone network. The information provider prerecords certain information into a recording device called an announcement machine, and the information user dials a designated telephone number to hear the information at any time. In this way, the system and its usage are simple, and the recorded information can be updated at any time, so it has gradually developed as one of the media in fields with a high rate of information metabolism.
