A type of printing plate used in printing; a reproduction of a typesetting plate made to protect against wear and tear caused by mass printing. Also called a stereotype. The paper form is placed in a mold and molten lead alloy is poured into it to cast it. The lead alloy is an alloy of lead, tin, and antimony, just like type.
