It is also possible to consider indirect référence, which passes through a third or fourth country, etc., and ultimately returns to Japanese law. In either case, if the policy of the foreign country is given priority, the applicable law will be the same both domestically and internationally (unification and international harmonization of applicable law), and this may seem like a reasonable policy, but if the foreign country also recognizes référence, etc., the phenomenon of référence will continue to repeat forever between that country and the applicable law will never be determined. ...
