A monk and politician from the late Goryeo period in Korea. His given name was Henjo and his pen name was Yokkong. His mother was a maid at Okcheonsa Temple in Gyeongseong County. He became a monk from an early age, and eventually frequented the royal palace, gaining the trust of King Gongmin. In 1366, he became a teacher and changed his name to Shinmin. In response to the king's wishes to reform long-standing problems such as the confiscation of land by powerful families and the rampant rule of clans and other subjects, he promoted reforms such as the elimination of subjects and the private ownership of large lands by establishing the Field and People's Government Bureau, but his rapid and arrogant methods drew strong opposition, and he was exiled to Suwon in 1371 and killed.

朝鮮，高麗末の僧，政治家。名は遍照。字は耀空。母は桂城県玉泉寺の婢。幼時から僧となり，やがて王宮に出入りして恭愍（きようびん）王の信任を得，1366年師傅（しふ）となり辛旽と改名した。権勢家の土地兼併，閥族･世臣の跋扈（ばつこ）等の宿弊改革を願う王の意をうけて，同年以後世臣の排除，田民弁整都監を設置しての大土地私有の改革などを推進したが，急激かつ驕慢なやり方は強い反発を招き，71年水原に流され，殺された。
