…The Metathelae is divided into two groups, the Cribellatae and the Acanthodea, which include most spiders. In addition to the six silk warts, the Cribellatae have a special spinning organ called a cribellata. The cribellata is an egg-shaped platelet with many small holes through which silk is produced.
