Craniospinal nervous system

The peripheral nervous system is the nervous system that connects each part of the body to the central nervous system. It is divided into the cranial nerves, which go to the brain, and the spinal nerves, which go to the spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is also called the craniospinal nervous system.

The peripheral nervous system, or cranial nerves, that enter and exit the brain generally has 12 pairs in vertebrates of reptiles and above.
