1513‐75 (Eisho 10‐Tensho 3) A military commander of Kai during the Sengoku period. Junior Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Governor of Mino. Formerly known as Kyouraishi Kagemasa. The Baba clan was a prominent family in Kai, but Toramasa incurred the wrath of Takeda Shintora and committed seppuku, resulting in the end of the family line. Nobuharu succeeded him at the command of Harunobu (Shingen). He served three generations of Takeda, Nobutora, Harunobu, and Katsuyori, and achieved many military feats, later becoming one of the four great retainers of the Takeda. In the Battle of Nagashino, he advised Katsuyori to retreat, but his advice was not accepted, and he ended up serving as the rear guard of the defeated army, and was killed in battle after seeing the main force escape.
